Sales Policy

A deposit of £15.00 is required to secure any rabbit.

Rabbits that will be available for adoption can be reserved from 4 weeks of age.  Prior to this we are happy to have prospective owners on our waiting lists but this does not guarantee the adoption of a kit.

We will notify prospective owners of any rabbit that may have a medical condition or behavioural problem, and all veterinary treatment rabbits have needed prior to accepting any deposit.

Where a rabbit is being adopted for breeding purposes we will notify prospective owners of the last litter or missed litters prior to accepting any deposit.

Where a rabbit is being adopted for pet only purposes as stated on our listing, it is the responsibilty of the new owner to ensure that their pet is neutered.  Bunnie House takes no responsibility for litters from pet only rabbits, and frowns upon untrustworthy clients.

Deposits are non-refundable except in the instance where the rabbit is of an unfit condition for sale.

Deposits are not transferrable under any circumstances.

We will only allow rabbits to go to prospective owners who we believe have adequate knowledge in the care and upkeep of rabbits.  We reserve the right to request a home check prior to releasing the rabbit from our care, or to refuse to allow the adoption to progress.

We will not allow any rabbit to be adopted by anyone under the age of 18 years old.  In the case where a rabbit is being adopted for a minor, we expect the legal parent or guardian to assume full responsibilty for the welfare of the rabbit.  We are happy to advise minors on care & handling in the presence of said parent or guardian.

No rabbit will leave Bunnie House before the age of 8 - 10 weeks old at our discretion.  Where a deposit has been accepted at an early age we are happy to accomodate additional viewings so that new owners can watch their kit as it grows.

We reserve the right to hold onto any rabbit for up to 14 days after the agreed date of adoption should we feel the rabbit is not fit and healthy.  Should the rabbit remain unhealthy, a different rabbit or full refund will be given.

Rabbits must be collected within one week of agreed adoption date.  After one week we reserve the right to charge new owners for boarding of their bunny at the current boarding rate.  Rabbits not collected after 14 days will be re-advertised for adoption and no refund will be given.

All rabbits have to be collected in person. We do not allow rabbits to be 'shipped' anywhere.  Where a rabbit will have to tolerate a long journey We expect provision to be made so that it is able to drink.

All rabbits will be thoroughly checked in the new owners presence for general condition and to check for any problems. We will inform the new owner what to look for so that this can be done themselves throughout the rabbits lifetime.  As far as possible, ears, eyes, nose, teeth, fur, skin, genitalia, feet, spine, neck & reflexes will all be checked.

We will not be held responsible for the death or illness of any rabbit after 24 hours of it leaving our care, although we are more than happy to give advice.

Ringed rabbits will be adopted with a transfer card unless otherwise stated.  The onus is on the new owner to change the title of the ring.  No responsibility will be accepted for rings that remain registered to Bunnie House.

We are happy to offer advice on all aspects of rabbit welfare to the best of our knowledge and practical ability for the lifespan of any rabbit.

We offer a lifetime guarantee on all rabbits that there will always be a home here at Bunnie House.  Although it is often beneficial to know the reasons why the rabbit would need to be rehomed, we will not pry into personal situations.  Please be aware that there will be no refunds issued.

Sales Provision

All rabbits leave with a weeks worth of food.  We advise that you do not change your rabbits diet until at least 12 weeks of age, and will happily give you details of where to purchase the same food that we feed our rabbits.  If ordered in advance we are able to supply you with a sack of food which will easily suffice until a) you are able to locate the food or b) your rabbit is old enough to have a change in diet.

All rabbits leave with a Birth Certificate which contains all their details as well as a care sheet to help you in the first few weeks of being their owner.  Our Rabbitry has many free leaflets from Animal Welfare Organisations, Veterinary Organisations and Related Product Manufacturers which you are free to take away with you.  Further advice may be found on our website or by emailing and telephoning us.  We will give you endless free advice at all times.

Upon request we will issue a Pedigree Certificate for your rabbit, showing the generations as far back as possible to 5 generations.  This must be requested prior to collecting your rabbit.

At 8 weeks old a rabbit is far too young to have its nails clipped so we are unable to show you how to do this.  Therefore as part of your sales provision we will offer you a free Health & Condition check at 6 months old where we will show you how to clip your rabbits nails.  Please do remember that this is not in place of any veterinary checks.

All rabbits that leave us may be returned to us at any time.  We will not refund your money, but we will keep the rabbit with us until such time as we are able to rehome him/her.  Please do not allow your rabbit to be another statistic in a rehoming centre.
