We are happy to accept rabbits that need to be rehomed subject to space but due to the vast amounts of rabbits that need our help we ask that you try to rehome your rabbit yourself before contacting us.
If you are rehoming your rabbit with us we will require the following information:
- your rabbits approximate month and year of birth.
- date of your rabbits last VHD and Myximatosis Innoculation.
- details of any allergies your rabbit has.
- your rabbits medical history.
- details of any anti-social behaviours displayed by your rabbit.
- date of your rabbits neutering if applicable.
- details of your rabbits last litter if applicable.
- details as to whether your rabbit is used to other animals, children, house bunny etc.
We need as much information about your rabbit as is possible to ensure that we can find the most suitable home and to be able to pass on that information for continuity of care.
Please note - rabbits that are in ill health will not be accepted for rehome. We do not offer hospital facilities.
If you think we can help you then please contact us. If we are able to accomodate your rabbit we will offer you a time to bring your rabbit to us. Please be aware that we are very busy during the summer months and space is at a premium therefore we may not be able to accomodate your rabbit.
When you bring your rabbit to us we will conduct a health check on your rabbit in your presence. We will also ask you to complete a form signing the care of your rabbit over to us.
All rabbits will remain in our care until we can find a suitable new home. We never euthanize rabbits unless due to ill health.
We ask that you bring all your rabbits belongings with them. This includes the hutch, any leftover beddings and foods, any toys, any cleaning equipment or medications etc. Some of these items will be rehomed with your rabbit but some of them will be used by us, therefore reducing the costs involved in rehoming rabbits. On occasion some items will be sold to raise funds to levy against the service we offer.
Please Note: You must bring your rabbits food with you - if we suddenly change your rabbits diet it could become fatally ill!
We also ask that you make a donation to the rehoming service. The amount is at your own discretion but we ask you to consider that your rabbit may stay with us for some considerable time, requiring feeding & cleaning, and possibly veterinary treatment. We receive no funding to provide this service so all donations are gratefully received.
