Rabbits are our lives, our family and our pride and joy, and as such, we fulfil several criteria within the rabbit world.

We take on unwanted rabbits and rescue rabbits subject to space.  Most of the unwanted and rescued rabbits we have been able to find loving homes for, but some are not 'cute' enough for people and they tend to stay with us.  Some rabbits have been very badly treated prior to our finding them, and it gives us such pleasure to be able to rehabilitate them and find them loving forever homes.  Please check our Rehoming page for rabbits currently waiting for loving families.

To fund the rescue we breed mini lop and french lop rabbits.  Over the years we have been defining our lines and last year we built a new rabbitry to ensure our rabbits are the happiest and healthiest they can be.  This year we intend to continue breeding rabbits of excellent quality, and to add another shed to our rabbitry to extend the amount of rabbits we are able to take on. We show some of our rabbits but mostly we are hobbyist breeders.  Although we will continue to show our rabbits, we recognise there is no credit in showing a rabbit that somebody else has bred.  All the credit goes to the breeder, and we are pleased that we now have home bred stock in the show world.  We aim to continue with our own stock, and are honoured that we now supply some very reputable breeders who are also showing our stock.  Don't forget to check out our Show News page to see how we got on at the shows. 

We are retailers of various products to help with funding the rescue and rehome rabbits.  We can supply feeds & bedding, as well as the essentials for any rabbit however we are not a pet shop and do not have any of our products in stock.  We offer this service to clients adopting a rabbit so that you may have everything all in one place when you collect the new member of your family.  Take a quick look at our Rabbit Extra's page and treat your bunny!

Recently we have been studying rabbit behaviour and we intend to take our studies further.  Several rabbits have visited us for behavioural training and we have successfully managed to retrain them.  Although it is still very early days, we hope that we will soon be able to extend our services to include this aspect on a formal basis.  We also have a member in the family who is studying animal management and in training to become a fully qualified vet although this will take a few years to complete.  It does however give us certain advantages when giving advice.

Subject to space, we are able to board rabbits whilst owners are on holiday or too ill to care for them.  We get very busy during the summer months, so please book early to avoid dissappointment.  Check out our Boarding page for more details. 

All monies received goes back into the care and welfare of the rabbits who are with us.  Any breeder will tell you there is no money to be made in breeding rabbits, and we can sanction that!!  The rescue rabbits often have illnesses and need veterinary treatment before they can be rehomed and we receive no funding for this.  We are blessed that our rabbits produce such stunning kits which help to finance the rescue.  Please check our Kits/Baby Bunnies page for details of current kits available and our In The Nest page for litters in the nest and litters expected.

 We are family run, based on the West Sussex/Hampshire border.  All the animals that come into our care are well loved and well looked after.  It is our aim that they will stay that way.  Any animal that leaves us, only does so in a fit and healthy state, and will be welcome back at any time should it's new owners circumstances change.

We are members of the British Rabbit Coucil (BRC) and The Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund (RWAF), The National Miniature Lop Rabbit Club (NMLRC), The National French & Dwarf Lop Club (NFDLC) as well as local Rabbit Clubs.

     Bunnie House is pleased to be working in partnership with several breeders mainly in Sussex and Hampshire, but also some others across the country.  It is these partnerships and friendships which have led us to become as successful as we are today! 

Rabbits are highly intelligent, inquisitive, fun, adorable animals, each with their own unique traits and personalities.  But don't forget, a bunny home requires a serious commitment, and a certail level of knowledge to ensure everyone has a safe, happy, healthy life together.
